It’s midsummer—the sun is shining, brimming with the promise of a great day ahead. Though the heat can be relentless and at times feels as if it’s burning through every cell of your skin, Nimman, Chiang Mai has its own way of letting you enjoy even the pain of such scorching days.


Strolling down the street of Nimman, you will find yourself surrounded by cafes where you can stop to grab some cold drinks that will feels evermore refreshing, chill your bones and slowly cool you down from the inside, even the sun is not your enemy when you are holding on to the meticulously crafted and perfected taste of beverages by the locals, from the infamous Thai Tea, trending green tea, aromatic coffee, to the refreshing fresh fruit smoothy and more, let them be your greatest companion while you are strolling down, shopping and experiencing, the lustrous street of Nimman, of course, preferably with some sun block on your skin, and perhaps a hat if that’s your style, or better both. 

 

Whether it be a breakfast, brunch, or a light snack along the way, Nimman is the perfect place for you. From the famous Khao Soi noodle, a local Thai meal, pastries and other snacks, to Western dining and more, Nimman will probably be able to fulfill your cravings. Indulge in the food of your selection and take a stroll around the area to digest and repeat it all again.  

For those who may not like to be standing in the heat for the whole duration, fear not, because all the stores are air-conditioned, so the only time you would be out in the sun is during the short walks between the places you choose to visit, which would not be too far as the district is divided into small blocks that is easy to navigate and only require short walks.

 

As a Thai person, Nimman is among the top spots that we go to while travelling, so rest assured if you find a lot of foreigners or have a perspective that the place is too touristy, we Thai people go there too. And, if you are not into shopping or walking around in general, some of the places are worth visiting just for the food, or sitting down for a while, which we often do as well.
